27 family and locally owned wineries make up the Southern Oregon Winery Association, formed in 2001 to promote the area’s growing wine industry. These include the Rogue, Umpqua and Applegate Valleys.

Diverse microclimates and soils have allowed growers to experiment with several varietals. Cabernet Sauvingon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Zinfandel are among the many wines produced locally.

Here are some wineries in and around the Medford area that welcome visitors:
RoxyAnn Winery, Medford. Handcrafted wines from the slopes of Roxy Ann Peak.
Del Rio Vineyards, Gold Hill. Overlooks the Rogue River, over 200,000 vines producing Claret, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Viognier.
EdenVale Wines, Medford. Pictureseque property and grand mansion.
Jackson Vineyards, Jacksonville. 3 vineyards with 7 varieties, primarily red grapes.
LongSword Vineyard, Jacksonville. Chardonnay and red wine, lovely patio setting.
Rosella’s Vineyards, Grants Pass. Produces Bordeaux and Rhone varietals.
Troon Vineyard, near Grants Pass. Boutique winery on 98 acres uses organic practices.
Valley View Winery, Jacksonville. Premium quality wines, spectacular views.
Weisinger Family Winery, Ashland. Beautiful views, award-winning wines.
Woolridge Creek Vineyard, Grants Pass. 12 varietals on 56 acres.
Bridgeview Vineyard and Winery, Cave Junction. Home of the famous Blue Moon wines.
